Last night The Gidewon Foundation along with Grant D Knowledge Foundation. Held it’s annual Party for a Cause Ball. This was an invitation-only event held at the beautiful Fernbank Museum of Natural History.
It was a night of sophistication and elegance. Themed as “An Evening under the Stars”, were guests enjoyed an evening like no other filled with great music, dancing, cocktails and more. The Fernbank Museum itself combines stately elegance and unique character with a variety of settings ranging from intimate to grand. Incredible features, including the world’s largest dinosaurs, limestone fossil floors and the twinkling Star Gallery add a touch of cultural elegance to the occasion.

Attendees included supporters of the Gidewon Group, the Gidewon Foundation, the Grant D Knowledge Foundation, special celebrity guests, corporate partners, sponsors, and local media along with an array of guests from the Atlanta community included Atlanta’s Mayor Shirley Franklin.

The Party for a Cause Ball was created solely to promote awareness about giving back to the community. This annual event combines a great social atmosphere with a charitable cause. All proceeds are given to support a selected local and/or national non-profit organization. This year’s ball will support the launching of the Grant D Knowledge foundation, an organization founded by Seattle Seahawks cornerback/safety Deon Grant.

Over the years, The Gidewon Foundation has supported several prominent organizations, which have included Hosea Williams Feed the Hungry and Homeless, Atlanta Housing Authority, the United Negro College Fund and many more. The foundation has also joined forces with local radio stations and celebrities to host events for underprivileged children in the Atlanta community.

The Gidewon Foundation is a 501 (c) 3 organization founded in late 2004 whose mission is to help improve the quality of life for local youth and those who are homeless. The Foundation focuses on educational and societal issues, and community revitalization. The goal of the foundation is to provide financial support and joint ventures through partnerships, which promote initiatives that combat homelessness and improve their network of resources and to assist underprivileged children in attaining their educational goals.
